Editorial independence
Editorial decisions are made solely on the basis of scientific merit and relevance to the journal's scope, free from commercial, political or institutional influence. Editors recuse themselves from any manuscript in which they have a competing interest.
Integrity of the record
We are committed to a trustworthy, permanent scientific record. When errors or concerns arise, we act transparently through corrections, retractions or expressions of concern — see Corrections, Retractions and Expressions of Concern.
Research & publication misconduct
We take misconduct seriously and investigate credible concerns, including:
- Plagiarism and text recycling — see the Plagiarism Policy.
- Data fabrication or falsification and image manipulation.
- Duplicate or redundant submission and publication.
- Authorship disputes and undisclosed contributors — see the Authorship Policy.
Conflicts of interest
Authors, reviewers and editors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could bias the work or its assessment. Undisclosed conflicts are treated as a breach of integrity. See the Conflict of Interest Policy.
Transparency of process
We require clear statements on funding, ethics approval, informed consent, data availability, author contributions and the use of artificial intelligence, so that readers can assess and reproduce the work with confidence.

Research involving humans or animals must comply with applicable ethical standards and have appropriate approval and consent. See Publication Ethics.
Complaints & appeals
We welcome feedback and handle complaints promptly and fairly. Concerns about the editorial process, a decision or a published article can be raised through Complaints and Appeals or by writing to editorial@oxtonscience.com.
