Author Guidelines

These guidelines describe how to prepare a manuscript for submission to Oxton Science Journal, a multidisciplinary, open-access journal managed and maintained by Oxton Education. Please read them in full before submitting. Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be returned without review.

1. Before you submit

• The work must be original and unpublished, and not under simultaneous consideration by another journal.
• All named authors must have contributed substantially to the work and approved the final version.
• Necessary ethical approvals and permissions (including for figures reproduced from other sources) must be in place.
• You will need an account to submit. Create one here if you do not have one.

3. Manuscript structure

Organise the manuscript in the following order:

• Title — concise and informative, plus a short running title.
• Abstract — up to 250 words, self-contained, no references.
• Keywords — 3 to 6 terms.
• Introduction — background, rationale and objectives.
• Materials and methods — enough detail for reproducibility.
• Results — findings, supported by figures and tables.
• Discussion and conclusion — interpretation, limitations and implications.
• Declarations — funding, conflicts of interest, ethics, data availability and author contributions.
• References — formatted consistently (see below).

4. Files required at submission

Because this journal uses double-blind review, you must upload two versions of your manuscript:

• Manuscript with author details — the complete file, including the title page, author names, affiliations and acknowledgements. This version is seen only by the editors.
• Anonymized manuscript (without details) — the same manuscript with all identifying information removed from both the text and the file's properties. This is the version automatically sent to reviewers, so it must not reveal who the authors are.

Supplementary material (datasets, figures, appendices) may be uploaded separately.

5. Formatting

• Submit each manuscript version as a PDF or Word file (max 20 MB).
• Use clear section headings — our editor supports automatic section numbering (1, 1.1, 1.2 …).
• Figures should be legible and referenced in the text (e.g. see Figure 1); captions are numbered automatically.
• Tables should be simple, numbered and cited in order of appearance.
• Use SI units and define all abbreviations at first use.

6. References and citations

References must be standardised and complete. We accept APA, Vancouver or ABNT style, applied consistently throughout. In-text citations should be numbered [1] or author–date according to the chosen style; every citation must have a matching entry in the reference list, and vice versa. Published articles display a ready-to-copy citation in all three styles.

7. Declarations

• Conflicts of interest — disclose any financial or personal relationships that could bias the work.
• Funding — name all sources of support.
• Ethics — state approvals and, where relevant, informed consent.
• Data availability — indicate where data supporting the findings can be accessed.
• Author contributions — describe each author's role.
• Use of AI — disclose any use of generative AI tools, including the tool, version and purpose (see our AI policy).

8. The review process
